Vandell Aljarrah, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist, just made a bold claim on X: when XRP hits fresh all-time highs, Bitcoin maximalists will dump their BTC and move into XRP. The prediction sparked waves of agreement in the crypto community, with several prominent voices backing the scenario.

The thesis rests on a simple premise. Bull markets tend to rotate. Right now, Bitcoin and XRP both sit well below their record peaks, meaning there's room for explosive moves. If XRP breaks out hard while Bitcoin struggles, the psychological pressure on holders who've been betting solely on BTC could become intense. Technical analyst ChartNerd endorsed Aljarrah's logic but added a twist: by the time Bitcoin-only investors jump in, the best gains will already be gone. "By that time, it will be too late for them," he wrote.

Ideology May Block the Shift

Not everyone buys the narrative. Christopher Schwartz, another X user, pointed out that pure Bitcoin believers often have deep ideological roots in the asset. Some would rather watch their conviction play out to zero than admit they missed something else. He called it "XRP Derangement Syndrome" among the hardest maximalists. Still, history offers a counterpoint. Davinci Jeremie, a longtime Bitcoin advocate and XRP critic, shifted his stance in early 2025 when technical charts flashed bullish signals. He publicly said XRP could climb above $20, acknowledging that price action matters more than personal bias.

Right now the math looks daunting for both assets. XRP trades at $1.06, down 42% year-to-date, while Bitcoin sits at $62,565 and has dropped 28.5% since January. Bitcoin needs a 101.7% jump just to reclaim its October 2025 peak of $126,200. XRP faces a steeper hill, requiring roughly 262% to break its all-time high of $3.84 from 2018. Neither is impossible in a bull market, but both demand significant momentum shifts.
