Binance has revealed that its tokenized stock platform, bStocks, is bringing a fresh wave of users to equity trading, with over 40% of participants trying stocks for the first time on the exchange through this new product. The exchange has developed three separate channels to traditional market assets, including pre-IPO perpetual futures, direct US-listed stock trading, and tokenized on-chain securities via bStocks.
Tokenized Stocks Drive New User Engagement
According to Binance data, 41.5% of bStocks users had no prior experience trading stocks or perpetual futures on Binance, highlighting that tokenized equities are their initial step into traditional financial instruments on the platform. The token offerings expanded from 5 to 36 within a month, with combined market value topping $300 million. The platform’s design simplifies access to tokenized assets, allowing users to transition from pre-IPO futures to bStocks more easily. For instance, 8.6% of those trading the SpaceX pre-IPO perpetual contract later purchased the tokenized stock, while only 0.6% moved to direct stock purchases.
Trading Activity Shifts Beyond Market Hours
While conventional US stock exchanges operate 24 hours a day, five days a week, Binance’s bStocks trade continuously, 24/7. This round-the-clock availability boosts bStocks’ share of trading volume, rising from 48% during US market hours to 58% after markets close. Features such as automatic dividend rebasing and DeFi yield opportunities further enhance the appeal for traders seeking flexibility beyond traditional schedules.
