"The concentration is striking," a phrase that barely does justice to what TokenInsight's Q2 2026 crypto exchange report actually shows: Binance alone captured around 60% of all TradFi perpetual contract volume in the second quarter, generating roughly $380 billion in trades. These are synthetic derivatives that track equities, ETFs, and commodities, not crypto assets directly, and they've quietly become one of the fastest-growing corners of the digital-asset market.
The numbers initially spread with a CoinGlass attribution, though no CoinGlass report or market page carrying these specific figures could be found in English. The traceable source is TokenInsight's Q2 2026 exchange report, which supplies the full breakdown. Behind Binance, the second tier is packed tight: Bitget came in at 11.01%, OKX at 10.97%, and MEXC at 10.85%. That's three exchanges essentially tied for second place, each holding about a tenth of the market, while Binance sits six times larger than any of them.
The growth story underneath those share figures is even harder to ignore. Monthly TradFi perpetual volume stood at $52 billion in January 2026. By June it had reached $268 billion, a more than fivefold jump in six months. That kind of trajectory puts the segment in a different category from most derivative products, which tend to grow gradually as liquidity builds. Here the expansion was fast enough to matter for any exchange trying to compete: lagging in TradFi perpetuals now likely means being locked out of a market that's already stratified around a handful of dominant venues.
The structure that emerges from the report is less a "big three" than a single dominant player and a cluster of challengers close enough to each other that rankings could shift quickly. Binance's share at 60% gives it the kind of market gravity that tends to compound, pulling in more liquidity, tighter spreads, and institutional flow. Whether the gap narrows in Q3 will depend heavily on how aggressively OKX and Bitget push product development in this specific segment, where the trading mechanics differ from standard crypto perpetuals and the client base skews toward traders with a TradFi background.
