Binance now holds 35 percent of the open interest in TradFi perpetual contracts on crypto exchanges, with total open interest topping $2 billion. Since unveiling its first contracts this January, the exchange has steadily secured dominance in this emerging segment.
Binance's Expansion into Traditional Finance Derivatives
Starting with gold (XAUUSDT) and silver (XAGUSDT) perpetual contracts, Binance quickly broadened its offering to include equities such as GEV, VRT, and SNOW. These contracts let traders speculate on prices of traditional assets without expiration dates, often with use between 25x and 50x. Now Binance commands roughly 35 percent of TradFi perpetual open interest and nearly 36 percent of the trading volume, underpinning its stronghold in the space.
Market Impact and Competitive Dynamics
In the second quarter of 2026, Binance handled around $380 billion in TradFi perpetual trading volume. its gold-linked perpetuals have shown an 89 percent accuracy rate in matching traditional market openings on Mondays. However, competitors like Bitget are gaining traction, accumulating nearly $70 billion in TradFi perpetual volume during the same period. This signals a heated race for innovation and market share in TradFi derivatives within the crypto ecosystem.
