ArenaDAO has launched a head-to-head meme coin battle format on BNB Chain where two tokens compete every eight hours and the losing side's vault gets converted into the winner's token and destroyed. The project, live at arenadao.live, strips the usual meme-coin gamble down to a binary choice: pick a side, hold a real BEP-20 token in your own wallet, and wait for settlement.
Matchups are built around natural rivalries. Past arenas have included $ANSEM vs $CASHCAT, Messi vs Ronaldo, and pairings across currencies, carmakers, and $BULL vs $BEAR. The creator of each arena chooses the matchup, and traders buy whichever side they want to back through a standard PancakeSwap V2 swap. Crucially, the tokens sit in the user's own wallet rather than locked in protocol custody, and they can be sold at any point mid-round.
Where the burn comes from
Every buy and sell inside an arena carries a flat 6% fee, paid in the token itself and routed straight to that arena's vault. As the project describes it, that vault is the sole source of the burn no outside subsidy involved. At settlement, the contract checks which side's BNB pool grew more over the roughly eight-hour window. The winner takes the round; the loser's entire vault is automatically swapped for the winning token, the bulk of the pot is burned, and the remainder goes to the arena's creator and the keeper who triggered settlement. A new round then opens and the cycle starts again.
The structure means traders are not holding a wager ticket or a points balance. They hold an actual token that trades on a public pool throughout the round, which gives them an exit at any moment rather than forcing them to sit through settlement. Whether that liquidity holds up during a live round with active buy pressure on one side is the practical question the format has not yet had to answer at scale.
