Apple's stock surged 3.55%, standing out as the tech sector slipped nearly half a percent. The shares pushed past $333, nudging the company's market capitalization beyond $4.9 trillion and nearing its all-time intraday peak of $334.99.
The rally is fueled by growing enthusiasm around Apple’s integration of generative AI features, upcoming product releases like the M6 Mac, and solid institutional buying. While many semiconductor and hardware stocks such as Micron Technology and Intel tumbled, investors showed confidence in Apple's resilient business model and strong free cash flow, which topped $129 billion over the past year.
Analysts Raise Price Target Ahead of Earnings
William Power from Baird boosted Apple’s price target from $310 to $330, maintaining an Outperform rating ahead of the company’s scheduled earnings report on July 30. He cited anticipated strong iPhone sales growth and steady services revenue as key drivers. Though challenges like memory pricing persist, Apple’s product cycle momentum and early positive feedback on Siri AI enhancements support the optimistic outlook.
The options market is currently pricing in a roughly 3.5% stock move post-earnings as investors brace for updates on guidance and new product cycles. Some analysts have also lifted revenue projections, pointing to stronger emerging market performance and gains in spatial computing as catalysts.
Baird’s report emphasized Apple’s substantial cash generation and expanding AI integration as reasons why the stock continues to attract capital amid ongoing sector headwinds.
