Partnerships Over Spending
While competitors like Amazon and Alphabet plan to invest roughly $200 billion each in AI infrastructure for 2026, Apple chooses to collaborate with key players such as OpenAI, Nvidia, and Alphabet to integrate AI into its devices. In China, Apple partners with Alibaba and Baidu to bring AI-powered services to the local market. This strategy keeps costs manageable while still delivering advanced AI features to its customers.
The market appears wary of a potential AI investment bubble triggered by hefty spending among tech giants. Apple's lean model, avoiding massive infrastructure expenses, is gaining appeal amidst these concerns.
The company’s recent earnings report added fuel to the bullish sentiment. Apple posted a Q3 EPS of $2.01, surpassing the expected $1.95, alongside revenues of $111.18 billion beating forecasts by nearly $2 billion and marking a 16.6% increase compared to last year. Its net margin stood firm at 27.15%, and return on equity was an impressive 146.69%. Also notable: Apple raised its quarterly dividend to $0.27 per share.
Analysts remain mostly optimistic. Bank of America rates Apple as a buy with a $380 price target, while Monness Crespi & Hardt recently lifted theirs from $315 to $335. the consensus sits at “Moderate Buy” with an average target just above $327.
Apple’s disciplined AI roadmap and solid earnings are pushing its market cap close to $4.9 trillion, signaling confidence in this carefully balanced approach.
