American Bitcoin's stock climbed over 5% Monday after the miner revealed it had accumulated 981 additional coins in the second quarter, pushing its total reserve to 8,002 Bitcoin worth $510.6 million at current prices. The gain came despite a $57.2 million quarterly loss, a sharp reversal from the $3.4 million profit the company posted in the same period last year.
The publicly traded outfit mined 932 Bitcoin in Q2, its best quarterly production ever. The company now sits on the 16th largest Bitcoin treasury globally, according to Bitcoin Treasuries tracking data.

Eric Trump, the company's co-founder and chief strategy officer, said the firm's "conviction in Bitcoin remains absolute" and outlined plans to build an "American Bitcoin powerhouse for the long haul."
